South Dublin Credit Union are a safe and friendly non - profit financial cooperative with over 13,000 members from Stillorgan, Donnybrook, Mount Merrion, Leopardstown, Sandyford, The Beacon, Goatstown, Murphystown and the surrounding areas.

As always, South Dublin Credit Union remains 100% owned by you, our members. We exist solely to serve your needs. We are not-for-profit, and the interest earned on loans helps to fund new and improved services as well as community sponsorships, local clubs and societies, and charitable causes.
Your savings are secure, with deposits guaranteed under the Government Deposit Guarantee Scheme (up to €100,000). We continue to provide Life Savings insurance cover up to a maximum of €5,000, from which the majority of our members benefit.
The asset base of the Credit Union increased to €75,067,444, while overall operational income rose to €2,035,019 during the financial year to September 2025.
Thank you to our borrowing members, whose support helped grow the loan book by over €1.6 million in our last financial year, bringing the total loans outstanding as of 30 September 2025 to €16,653,879.
South Dublin Credit Union recorded a surplus of €554,534 during the 2025 financial year and remains a stable and secure financial institution for all our members.
Who We Are & Where We Came From
In January 2017, members of St. Mary’s Credit Union Donnybrook and Stillorgan Credit Union overwhelmingly approved a motion put to members at their respective AGMs, for both Credit Unions to merge. This merger offered both Credit Unions the opportunity to grow and develop the products and services on offer to their members and to help secure continued stability and create opportunities for development. In March 2017 the credit unions merged to form South Dublin Credit Union – a larger, stronger entity. In other words – together, we’re better!
South Dublin Credit Union serve in excess of 13,000 members online and in person in our office in Stillorgan. We are proud to offer members a safe and secure place to save, excellent value loan rates, and a host of other member services and facilities.
Our membership is open to those living, working and studying within our common bond, which covers Stillorgan, Donnybrook, Mount Merrion, Leopardstown and Sandyford, The Beacon, Goatstown and the surrounding areas.
